Glass candle holder with etched cross

These were burning in the church. I thought they were very beautiful. I have several other shots but I think this is my favorite.

Antique Books

I shot these books through the glass case in the museum at the San Juan Bautista Mission. I had to drive down there to pick up my work from Galeria Tonantzin so I thought I'd go back to the Mission with the 5d this time.

Photo LA

The work of Jeff Charbonneau & Eliza French in the Robert Berman Gallery drew me in to take a closer look. I was intrigued by the luminosity of the prints. They look like they are 3 dimensional. I thought maybe they were layered or something but I was told it was the way the were printed and the special non-glare glass (I can't remember what it was called at the moment). As I was admiring their technique and mentioning how the work reminded me of of Robert Parke Harrison's earlier work, I noticed a little brochure sitting on the table by Gerald Slota and immediately I asked if they had one that I could take with me. Soon I found out that Gerald was in the vicinity and if I wanted to meet him, they'd give him a call.

I had a lovely chat with Gerald and he signed & sketched my brochure and we exchanged cards. I was thrilled to find out that he now has a website.

Four Little Pants

I love this image called "Four Litttle Pants", 1996 by Trina McKillen. I saw the image in Santa Fe at the Anahita Gallery and almost bought it but the price we were first quoted ended up being too low and the "real" price was outside of my budget :(

I came across the artist's catalog that the owner of the gallery gave me when I was going through some stuff in the little room upstairs. Its such a cozy room. I wish I could somehow make it bigger!

Kitty & the Christmas Tree

Our beautiful Christmas Tree with all of the presents and a proud Kitty standing in front of it. He is so black you can barely see him!

We celebrated Christmas by opening presents and having a nice dinner with a lovely bottle of Moet & Chandon Rose Imperial. Unfortunately, I became ill. I spent the rest of the week in bed :(

de Young closed today!

I was surfing online trying to find out when the Louise Nevleson show ends at the de Young only to discover that they were closed today "due to severe weather"! Wow, I was surprised.

Simply Solder

Perhaps I should just get out this book that I bought to remind myself how to do the soldering. The author, Lisa Bluhm has a website where you can purchase kits and supplies.

Thinking about soldering again...

I took a soldering class at the craft gym
a while but don't really remember how to do it. I think I have most of the supplies. Perhaps I'll take refresher course before getting too involved in the Spring semester at school.

I also found a class at Beadissimo

This always happens at this time of year. I get the bug to take a class or learn something new and then next thing you know school starts and I'm too busy to think about taking a class because I'm teaching them!

Teesha Moore

Amazing journal pages by Teesah Moore. I came across her website when I was looking up something else and was completely taken with her work. Here is a link to her website. Enjoy!
