Fire Ants
busy little creatures....
Two species of fire ants are found in
Florida.
Most notorious is
Solenopsis
invicta
Buren, the red imported fire ant (RIFA), followed by the much less common
S. geminata
(Fabricius), the tropical or native fire ant.
