Ocean Beach, Jan 31st, 2008

So beautiful and changes so rapidly. I love Ocean Beach especially when there are cool clouds in the sky. This is looking south from the left side of the Camera Obscura. Oops, it looks like I already uploaded this photo a couple of weeks ago. Oh well. It is one of my favorites.

Black Jack Candy

I love this kind of taffy. I usually get a couple of pieces when I go up to Calistoga. At the moment I'm trying to stay away from excessive sugar.

This is a small doll that I got at Alemany today. She was only $5 but she had a terrible wig that I promptly ripped off.

I love the tintype photos in this little historic installation. They take so much care to put these rooms together.

Amazing Stained Glass window at St. Brigid's

This is one of many beautiful stained glass windows in the church that the Academy of Art University now owns.

Saguarro at Mission San Xavier

This saguarro has so much character. He lives right in front of the San Xavier Mission in Tucson.

Virgin at the Carmel Mission

She is beautiful. Unfortunately, it was difficult to get a good shot because of the reflection on the glass and there wasn't much room where she was located.

Annette Fournet

I came across Annette's work in the most recent issue of Light Leaks magazine.

I love her sense of place. There is a real atmospheric quality to her work. The camera and the b/w film works so well with the subject matter.

I am especially drawn to her scarecrow series. Check out her website.

View from the Camera Obscura

It was very windy and drizzly when this image was taken. I was standing right next to the Giant Camera Obscura in front of the Cliff House looking south at Ocean Beach. The sky was absolutely gorgeous.

This image was taken with my modified holga plus polaroid back (holgaroid) and fuji 100 film. Landscape/sunny setting and handheld as with all of the others from this series.
