Doll Head
Marilyn's Doll
I've had these dolls for way too long. I borrowed them from Lisa to photograph and I can't even remember for sure when. I am finally giving them back to her tomorrow. I've attempted several times to make photos of the dolls for Marilyn. Today I made pictures with my hasselblad. I'll pick up the b/w film on Weds.

Journal, NYC, May 2006
I came across this image last night when I was looking through some digital images that I haven't done anything with yet. This is from my trip to NY & Boston last May/June. I kept a self-portrait photo journal every day. I was using my Polaroid 680 camera with 600 film. Unfortunately, that camera no longer works:(

Julie Arkel
This is and image of Julie Arkel's studio and the cover of her book. I really like her work. I was reminded of her work again when I was at Summer House on Saturday in Mill Valley. I'd like to get a copy of her book but can't find it anywhere around here or on the web. I've got a lead in at Loop (a store in London) http://www.loop.gb.com/index.html
but they haven't emailed me back.

Another image of the Virgin
This was taken at my studio today with natural window light around 4pm. I used my sx70 camera with a nd filter and 600 (unexpired!) polaroid film. I brought the image home and scanned it and cropped off the white polaroid borders. I love the shallow depth of field and limited focus that the sx70 is able to attain.

My Mary
I bought her at Summer House in Mill Valley today. I love that store. They often have a few (expensive) Santos. I went there looking to see if they had any wooden hands/arms and they did, I almost bought one for $120 and then I thought wait, this is a lot of money for something that I just want to photograph. I bought a couple of marbles and some saint b/w tiny photographs from Mexico and she was behind the counter. I almost didn't ask how much they were asking for her because everything else was sooooo expensive (the head of a santos figure, just the head, was $875 but they said they have lay away!). I snatched her up before I had time to change my mind. She is beautiful.
